Church Choir

Once again, we have been very busy, enjoying our singing and, hopefully, adding to the reverent atmosphere in our worship, Sunday by Sunday.
We could tell how many hymns we have sung and how many Introits and Anthems we have provided over the past twelve months, but these are only statistics. The real heart and soul of our choir is the joy and pleasure which we get from our music, a fact that is amply demonstrated by each member doing their best to attend rehearsals and the Sunday Services. Rarely do we fall below 70% attendance and we usually have a balanced four-part choir, superbly led by our Music Director.
We have a good library of Anthems, both in albums and as sheet music, and the decision as to what we sing is made by our committee formed by representatives from each voice and from the Organists, together with the Music Director, the Secretary and Librarian. These meet three times a year to select pieces relevant to the forthcoming Church Calendar of Events. We try to average an Anthem once a fortnight, supplemented by Special Sundays such as Carol Service and Palm Sunday, when we usually sing three items.
We always welcome comments from the Congregation as to whether our music is too simple or too complex, too old fashioned or too modern.
